Define the project identity
A brand kit stores workspace colors, a font, and a logo. It helps a poster and its related assets use the same starting choices. The kit belongs to the workspace and is saved in .kition/brand.json; it is not a promise of organization-wide synchronization across unrelated workspaces.
Prepare the approved color values, a suitable font, and a usable logo asset before opening Settings. Inspect light and dark placements so text remains readable. A saved brand color does not automatically make every combination accessible.
Configure and apply the kit
- Open Settings, then Brand in the current workspace.
- Set the workspace colors, font, and logo.
- Open a design and select the layer or artboard you want to update.
- Use the Brand menu to apply a color to the selection or artboard, and apply the font to text layers.
- Inspect the resulting text wrapping and contrast, then save and export a review copy.
Choose a reusable control
| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Brand colors | A common project palette |
| Brand font | A shared typography starting point |
| Logo | Workspace identity asset |
| Text style | Reusable typography for individual layers |
Review the actual composition
Changing a font can change line breaks and the amount of space a headline occupies. Inspect every size variant after applying typography, especially narrow story layouts and compact square assets. Keep the exact headline in an editable text layer so these adjustments do not require generating another background.
Retain the brand file and the referenced logo with workspace backups. When moving a design to another project, check which assets and styles it requires instead of assuming the destination has the same kit. The exported delivery file and the editable .kidesign source serve different purposes.
