Know the sync boundary
Kition 0.1.41 does not include first-party real-time workspace synchronization. If a workspace is inside iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Syncthing, Git, or another synchronized folder, that provider is responsible for copying files between devices.
The sync target must contain the complete workspace, including the hidden .kition directory. Copying only selected Markdown documents is not a complete workspace transfer.
Recover a missing or stale workspace
- Close Kition on the device that will receive changes
- Wait until the sync provider reports the complete folder as available locally
- Inspect provider conflict copies and version history before deleting anything
- Open the synchronized folder through the Kition workspace launcher
- Reload the workspace after file synchronization completes
Avoid conflicting edits
Do not edit the same workspace concurrently on two devices. Close or pause work on one device, wait for its upload to finish, then wait for the other device to finish downloading before opening Kition there.
Keep an independent versioned backup. A synchronization provider propagates deletions and conflicts; it is not by itself a backup.
Reconnect device-local services
Provider credentials, proxy secrets, account sessions, and other application-data settings are not stored inside the workspace folder. Configure them separately on each device instead of copying plaintext application secret files through the workspace sync service.
