Kition is a local-first AI workspace. We believe your notes and data should live on your own machine, and the AI agent should be a real tool — not a decoration.
Who we are
Kition is built by a small team focused on desktop apps, AI system design, and local data management. We have used Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, Cursor, and a long parade of AI note apps. We built Kition because none of them combined a serious local-first stance with an agent that ships work.
What we believe
We believe in open file formats (Markdown, CSV), observable AI behavior (every tool call is visible), and user data ownership (leave whenever you like). We also believe AI should make your work lighter, not chain you to a cloud account.
Product principles
Local-first: data lives on your machine. Transparent: every agent tool call is visible and interceptable. Extensible: Hooks, MCP, subagents are first-class. Pragmatic: solve real problems, do not stack features.
