Use the paths reported by Kition
Open Settings → Data. Kition displays the resolved absolute paths for the local data directory, cache directory, logs directory, and exports directory, with an Open action for each location. These values from the running app are authoritative because operating-system paths can vary by platform, packaging, and user profile.
Runtime directory layout
A workspace selected through the workspace launcher can live anywhere you chose, outside the application data directory. Use the launcher or reveal the workspace in the operating system before assuming it is the default workspace.
- Data directory — Electron
userData; contains settings, application state, and the default workspace - Cache directory — Electron
userCache - Logs directory — Electron
logs - Uploads —
<data>/uploads - Exports —
<data>/exports - Default workspace —
<data>/workspace - Desktop database —
<data>/data/desktop.db - Embedded runtime log —
<logs>/desktop-api.log
Configuration and credential files
<data>/workspaces.json— registered workspaces and the active workspace<data>/proxy.json— proxy configuration without the password value<data>/installation.json— installation identity and related local state<data>/secrets/*.secret— provider and proxy secrets used by the Desktop app
Heads up
Kition 0.1.41 stores these .secret values locally with a plain-v1: encoding. They are plaintext application data, not operating-system Keychain or credential-vault entries. Protect backups and restrict access to the data directory.
Collect diagnostics safely
Settings → About → Support diagnostics copies a redacted state summary. It excludes documents, prompts, file paths, keys, tokens, and log contents and is the preferred first item to share with support.
Logs are more sensitive. Settings → Developer → Debug mode can add model request and Agent turn details to logs. Inspect and redact log files before sharing them, especially after reproducing an issue with Debug mode enabled.

Settings reference
Kition settings configure device behavior, accounts, model providers, email connections, and diagnostics. This reference identifies the version-specific sections and the scope of each choice.
Privacy and telemetry
Privacy and telemetry describe where workspace data goes and which optional usage events are collected. Local storage does not mean every connected feature operates without network requests.
Uninstall Kition and remove app data
Uninstall the application separately from its workspaces, settings, credentials, caches, and logs.
