Kition is a desktop AI workspace that keeps narrative documents, structured records, visual thinking, browser research, Agent work, and repeatable workflows in one project context.
The product is currently in beta. Back up important workspaces and review Agent changes before relying on them in production workflows.
Heads up
Kition is beta software. Verify important output and keep an independent backup of valuable workspaces.
The main work surfaces
- Documents — Markdown editing with links, backlinks, callouts, code, math, diagrams, search, and export.
- Tables —
.kitablefiles with typed fields, formulas, filters, groups, views, attachments, and AI-assisted fields. - Whiteboards — an infinite visual surface for diagrams, mind maps, flows, and reviewable Agent proposals.
- Browser research — browser tabs inside the workspace that can provide live page context to the Agent.
- Agent — tool-using assistance that can inspect project context, update supported workspace content, and expose its actions for review.
- Workflows — visible trigger-and-action automations with step testing and run history.
Local workspace, connected context
A Kition workspace is a folder you choose. Markdown documents and .kitable tables live with workspace-owned assets and metadata, so the same project can hold long-form context, structured state, visual planning, and automation definitions.
Kition keeps one workspace active at a time and can remember several workspaces in its launcher. Removing a workspace from the launcher does not delete its folder from disk.
AI is optional
Documents, tables, Whiteboards, and local workflows can be used without an AI account or provider. When you want AI, choose Kition Cloud or connect a supported provider.
- Kition Cloud — sign in with a Kition Account and use hosted models with Kition credits
- Bring your own provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Kimi, or a compatible custom endpoint
- Continue without AI — use local documents, tables, Whiteboards, and deterministic workflows
Review is part of the workflow
Agent work is most useful when it remains inspectable. Kition can show tool activity and reviewable document or Whiteboard changes so you can accept, reject, correct, or rerun the result.
The model can still make mistakes. Treat important external actions, destructive changes, and generated facts as work that requires human review.

Open your first workspace
A workspace is the local project folder that holds Kition documents, tables, assets, and workspace-owned state.
UI tour
The Kition interface is a set of connected work surfaces around an active workspace. Documents explain, tables organize records, boards show relationships, and the Agent works with selected context.
