Resolve and open links

Kition first checks an explicit path, then a path relative to the current document, then a matching basename. .md and .kitable extensions can be omitted from a link target.

Resolved links render as clickable chips outside the active source range. A missing target renders as unresolved. Opening it asks before creating a new Markdown document, normally beside the current document when the target contains no path.

Backlinks panel behavior

Open the document side panel and choose Backlinks. Kition scans Markdown files for explicit [[...]] references to the current document and groups matching lines by source file.

Select a result to open the source document at the referenced line. The 0.1.41 scan is bounded to the first 500 Markdown files returned by the workspace listing.

Note

The panel reports explicit wikilinks. It does not provide the old “unlinked mentions” mode, folder grouping controls, or a guarantee that every file beyond the scan bound is included.

Renames require verification

Kition 0.1.41 does not document a workspace-wide automatic wikilink rewrite every time a document is renamed or moved. After changing a path, inspect unresolved links and the Broken links tool before relying on the graph.

The document command palette includes text transformations for wikilinks, but those commands act on the current editor content; they are not a universal vault-wide rename transaction.
