Privacy policy
Last updated January 2026. Kition’s privacy posture is built on one premise: your data stays on your machine.
What we collect
The Kition desktop app does not, by default, send your notes, tables, API keys, or vault path to our servers. We only make outbound calls when (1) you click download or check for updates, (2) you trigger an AI call (which goes directly to the provider you chose, not via us), or (3) you opt into crash reporting (off by default).
Anonymous telemetry
Crash logs and performance metrics (startup time, peak memory) are off by default. If you opt in we collect redacted technical information only — never your content. Toggle in Settings → Privacy.
AI provider privacy
Content you send to OpenAI, Anthropic, AiApiy, or any other provider is subject to that provider’s privacy policy. Kition routes the request from your machine directly to the provider you picked, with no copy in between.
