Privacy policy
Last updated August 2026. This policy explains what the desktop app and website collect, when network requests occur, and how optional analytics works.
What we collect
Kition keeps workspace content local by default. Data leaves the device when you use a networked feature: Kition Cloud, a bring-your-own AI provider, web or browser research, updates, account/billing services, connected workflows, feedback, or optional anonymous usage analytics. The destination depends on the feature you choose.
Anonymous telemetry
Anonymous product-usage analytics are off by default. When enabled in Settings → General, Kition queues a fixed coarse event schema under an analytics-specific anonymous installation identifier. You can inspect and clear the queued events in the same settings area.
AI provider privacy
Bring-your-own-provider requests go to the endpoint you configure and are subject to its policies. Kition Cloud requests go through Kition’s hosted service and consume Kition credits. In both cases, review the context tray and do not send content the selected service should not receive.
