Core syntax

• # through ###### — heading levels 1 through 6

Verified editor shortcuts

• Cmd/Ctrl + B — toggle bold
• Cmd/Ctrl + I — toggle italic
• Cmd/Ctrl + E — toggle inline code while the CodeMirror editor owns the shortcut
• Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + K — toggle strikethrough
• Cmd/Ctrl + 1 through 6 — set the current line heading level; 0 restores a paragraph
• Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + 7 — ordered list
• Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + 8 — bullet list
• Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + 9 — task list

Slash commands and toolbar

Type / in the editor to open insertion commands for headings, lists, code blocks, Mermaid, tables, links, images, callouts, math, footnotes, dates, timestamps, and wikilinks. The document toolbar exposes common formatting and insertion actions as buttons.

Pasting a URL over selected text can convert the selection into a Markdown link. Enter continues Markdown list markup, while an empty continuation line exits the list.

Line breaks and portability

Kition’s rendered Markdown enables GitHub-flavored Markdown and treats ordinary newlines as visible line breaks. Other Markdown applications may render the same newline differently, so check portability when a document will be consumed outside Kition.

Kition-specific extensions such as wikilinks and callouts remain readable as source text in another editor, but their interactive rendering is not guaranteed outside Kition.
