Plans, previews, and apply confirmation
Distinguish informational Agent plans from the table write plans and previews that have an explicit Apply step in Kition 0.1.41.

There is no standalone Plan mode control
Kition 0.1.41 does not expose a general Plan mode toggle, /plan slash command, or Approve/Edit/Reject workflow for every Agent task.
The runtime can emit plan.updated events. Kition displays their explanation and pending, in-progress, or completed steps, but that card is informational and does not by itself pause execution.
Heads up
Do not assume that seeing a Plan card means no tools or writes can run until you approve it.
Table write plans can require Apply
For supported table workflows, the runtime can emit table.plan.generated with estimated creates, updates, skips, risks, and requires_apply_confirmation.
When confirmation is required, Kition shows Apply. Choosing it sends a follow-up turn with execution mode apply and the confirmed table-plan context.
Preview is feature-specific
The Agent request contract contains research, preview, and apply execution modes, but the public client does not offer them as a general task-mode selector. The client uses them in specific flows, such as table import/plan handling and reviewable workspace changes.
Document patches, table plans, Whiteboard proposals, and shell approvals have different review controls. Check the control shown for the actual tool instead of treating “plan first” as a universal safety boundary.
Request a reviewable workflow
- Ask the Agent to inspect and summarize before changing anything
- Ask it to list intended files, rows, or external actions in the reply
- Use a supported table plan Apply step when one is offered
- Review patch previews and changed-file cards before accepting edits
- Deny shell commands you do not understand
Goal mode is not a public 0.1.41 workflow
Workspace storage can persist goal-related runtime state, but the 0.1.41 public client does not expose a Goal mode control, recursive autonomous loop settings, or a documented way to stack Goal and Plan modes.
